Master potter, Hèctor Gallegos, first learned to pot from his
wife, Graciela Gallegos, about twelve years ago. Recognized as
two of the most talented artists of Mata Ortiz, they've traveled
throughout the United States for exhibitions and demonstrations.
Hèctor is well known for his Casas Grandes and Mimbres-influenced
designs, as well as his own original patterns, executed on a wide
variety of white clay forms. Hèctor continues to ranch as well
as pot. His two oldest children, Miriam and Hèctor Junior, like
their parents, are also fine potters.
This new design is a very fine example of Hèctor using Casas
Grandes, Mimbres and invented designs on a beautiful and challenging
shape.
